Tim – I answered this via email, but as usual I can’t send email to your email address. You may want to look into getting a hotmail address or something.

You can do “anything” with the rendered output of particleIllusion that you want. Remember that if you just use the emitters that somebody else has created and render them then sell it as your own work, that could be a problem. As long as you’ve made significant modifications (visually significant changes) to the emitters, or created your own, this is no problem.

By “no alpha” do you mean that it’s a 24-bit (instead of 32-bit) file, or that the alpha channel is “empty” (all black)?

Remember that when “create non-intense alpha” is checked, any “intense” particles are not included in the alpha channel.

This has frustrated me several times too. You should be able to convert a super emitter back to a regular emitter in a future update.

June 23, 2006 at 6:09 pm in reply to: How make PI look 3D?

The emitter “zoom” property does not affect particles that are already created. What is really needed is some sort of layer “zoom”, but that feature is not present.

If you really need to do this, then render it in pIllusion and map it to a plane in your 3D app or compositing app.

This isn’t the correct place to discuss issues like this. I very much doubt that you were charged again — it just doesn’t work that way. Contact wondertouch support.

Look at the docs, Tutorial 5, “Create non-intense alpha”. You may have to click the link 2 times (not a double-click) to get to the right part of the page.

[Dionysus] “P.S. Final Fantasy later series also apply PI in their (pre-render) CG movie. (Which I learn it from a CG magazine interview with Squaresoft.) Though you may not care about the usage in video game, I guess…”

I care. Is the interview online somewhere? Oh, but it’s probably in Japanese, right?

Yes, the Mouse emitter works in SE. You may upload the project file. Actually, it’s still on the wondertouch server, but there is no direct link to it anymore, and it will probably be deleted at some point (so I won’t post the file link).
