Open the properties dialog for the emitter and set the transparency gradient for the particles so they fade out at the end.

After loading an uncompressed AVI in 3.0.2, if you see nothing in the stage window, check the “T” icon in the layer window. It’s probably “on” — click it to toggle it off (red X through it).
The uncompressed AVI you’re loading has an alpha channel that is fully transparent.

r-click in the graph of any property that has keyframes (including the position graph, which you get by selecting the emitter name in the hierarchy), select “scale”, then select the “x-values” and scale by 200% or whatever.

The context menus are wrong in Leopard. You need to open the properties dialog a different way. Double-click, Cmd-enter, etc.

Just to be clear, you do actually have a working connection on that machine, right?
If you run 3.0.2 now and do an update check, do you get the same message? If so, verify that you can connect to the wondertouch website with your browser.

This error didn’t happen in the beta versions of 3.0.2? (You *were* part of the beta test for this.)

As already suggested by Sockratease, the easiest solution is to import your text image, make it a “single” emitter, and have it appear as the other particles fade out.

I have an update on this. All context menus (r-click menus) are off by 2 positions, not 1. The dividers count too.
So if you r-click in the library window and select “Manage”, you’ll actually get “Load Library”.
But all submenus in context menus work fine — so the Quick load library menu works, as do all of the preview window context menu items (except “edges”).

I forgot to say that you can also create a new layer by double-clicking in the empty space under your existing layers in the layers window.
