  • AJA is still interested in supporting Io HD users, but enabling the Io HD for use with Apple Final Cut Pro X requires collaboration with Apple. We are sorry that this support has not yet arrived.

  • VHS consumer VTRs will typically require the use of a time base corrector to produce a stable output signal that can be fed to non-linear editors and professional hardware. In all likelihood, the cause of the issue in this case is the video output of the VTR without a timebase corrector in the signal path. Please feel free to contact AJA Technical Support if you have additional questions about your configuration and the use of the AJA products.

June 25, 2012 at 6:34 pm in reply to: IO XT codec presets FCP 7

Final Cut Pro 7 was a legacy software when the AJA Io XT product began shipping and therefore only a limited amount of presets were provided. Users may feel free to make any additional Easy Setups that they would like by using the provided Easy Setups as a starting point.

If you have questions about creating new Easy Setups that are specific to the AJA hardware, please feel free to contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email for assistance.

June 6, 2012 at 7:14 pm in reply to: AJA Support for Adobe CS6!

It’s critical that both the System Preferences audio settings and the Premiere Audio Hardware preference not be set to “AJA”. If either is set to AJA hardware, drop outs and distorted audio will result. Also important: if the setting in either case is incorrect and then corrected, the system must be rebooted before audio will be restored to correct operation. The usual settings for the Mac OS audio should be “Line Out” or “Internal Speaker,” etc. Anything other than “AJA”. For Premiere, the usual setting should be “System Default” etc. and not “AJA.”

This information was provided in the Release Notes document supplied with the latest AJA Adobe Mac Plug Ins:
    https://www.aja.com/ajashare/ajadocuments/AJA_Adobe_Plugins_Mac_10.3.pdf

    From that document:
    • AJA KONA and Io Core Audio drivers are not used in Premiere Pro. The Core
Audio driver will show up in the Premiere Pro Audio Hardware selector, but users
should instead select the Premiere Pro default audio device. If the Core Audio
driver is selected, some audio problems may occur. See the the AJA Adobe Plug-ins
manual for more information on setting up the audio output in Premiere Pro.

If you need assistance configuring the audio, please feel free to contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email.

June 4, 2012 at 4:41 pm in reply to: “Warning, Low Battery” on AC power.

Please feel free to contact AJA Technical Support if you have not already done so. They will be happy to assist you in resolving this matter. It sounds like there may be an issue with your power supply for the unit. If that is the case, they can issue an RMA and replace the suspect power supply for you. You may contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email between 9am and 5pm PST Monday through Friday.

May 31, 2012 at 4:42 pm in reply to: Major problems after upgrading to 3.0

While we appreciate that time differences can make coordinating phone calls for support more difficult, you may still wish to contact AJA Technical Support via email. AJA provides an EU support email in addition to the standard support email address. The EU support email address is: eu-support@aja.com

You may want to consider a Factory Reset via CONFIG menu parameter 99.1 Factory Reset. After the Factory Reset, reset your various menu parameters for the desired conversions. AJA Technical Support reviewed a Ki Pro using version 3.0 firmware and the issues you are describing with downconversions were not seen.

Again, don’t hesitate to contact AJA Technical Support for assistance.
