    Hard to say what the problem is without the file. Here’s an example where the bowl fills up and a few spill out before the emitter stops:

    I adjusted a few of the default settings in Edit>Project Settings>Dynamics>Advanced. Notably, I increased the steps per frame and reduced the scale.

    I’d fill the bowl using a standard emitter and dynamics, cache the dynamics, and then right-click on the emitter and select, “make editable.” That’ll give you your static bowl of coins and you can then delete the emitter.

    Yep, it is the deformers. You can fix it by putting Stick Texture tags on the cubes that are being deformed.

    Here’s how I’d do it:

    1. Clone both objects onto whatever you’re cloning onto;
    2. With the cloner selected, use the Mograph>Mograph Selection tool to select the spots where you would like a particular clone to be placed;
    3. Create a Plane Effector, which will automatically be restricted to the Mograph selection you just created;
    4. Turn off the effector’s default Position parameter and set the Parameter>Modify Clone slider up to 100%.

    That will place only the second object under the cloner on your selection set.

    Is there are a specific liquid you’re trying to create? Can you post a sample photo or link to a photo of what you’re looking for?

    The rotation axis of the spline you want to use has to be aligned with the Y axis of the Lathe object. In your case the spline is way off on the X axis relative to the Lathe.

    I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t have Maya but I know people frequently go back and forth using .obj and .fbx.

    And in case Obj doesn’t work again, here it is in Fbx format:

    If you have C4D Studio edition you can use the motion tracker for this, placing manual trackers on the features you want to trace. If not there are plenty of 3rd part motion trackers available.

    Personally I would try to avoid the caustics and instead use an anisotropic metal reflection on the iris to simulate the light effect.

    Example:
