I recently downloaded a 3d cupcake in the .C4D format. I then downloaded the trial version of Cinema 4D, registered it, and converted the object to a Wavefront .OBJ … I also tried .FBX. However, when I try to import the .OBJ into Maya, it gives me an error on line 0 of the file. I really need to get this object into Maya. Can anyone help me with this??

If you attach the file I’ll give it a shot.

I already posted the file – but it seems like it’s not visible. I’ll try again. No. It’s still doing weird things. Their system doesn’t work very well. The file is posted at https://f1.creativecow.net/11851/cupcake-c4d. Thanks!

In case Adam doesn’t see your post for awhile, here’s the obj file exported from C4D:

And in case Obj doesn’t work again, here it is in Fbx format:

The .obj file gives the error “line 0: Error reading file.” The .fbx file says “not enough parameters.” These are the same errors I got when converting it myself.

I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t have Maya but I know people frequently go back and forth using .obj and .fbx.
