As Chris said above, you can do basic character animation without Mocca. You have to set up vertex maps for the bones and then place a restriction tag on each bone referencing its vertex map. There should be some tutorials covering this on Maxon’s website.

[Chris Smith] “funny thing is it seems to have the functions of Storm tracer, Jenna, and Response all built in. Makes me wonder if that’s why Jenna, CPT, and Response suddenly went away.”

I think it was exactly the opposite of that. 🙂

It is pretty expensive but worth it… you can come up with some pretty cool stuff
I’m getting it as soon as it’s out…”

Yes, IMHO it’s very worth it. If you do motion graphics it could easily pay for itself in one day. Even if you don’t, it has enough applications to make it a very good value.

Personally I love that it gives you a lot of the power of Thinking Particles but with infinitely greater ease of use.

If “High Quality” is checked in your boolean objects, you might try unchecking that. Sometimes the old ways are the best. 🙂

Are you using the sky primitive object, or one of the sky presets from the preset libraries? The former shouldn’t have any effect on alphas. With the latter, however, you might be getting an Environment object with fog enabled, which *can* interfere with alphas.

Use the Instance Object referencing a master spline. Any changes to the master will be reflected in the instances.

  • Hi Nick,

I’m not sure what the problem is. It could be a difference between R6 and later versions. It’s been a long time since I’ve used R6.
