    Technically speaking a cube has no lens effect because the sides are straight. Generally, though, you achieve lens effects by enabling refraction in the transparency channel (increase the Refraction setting over the default value of 1). Glass has a refractive index of approximately 1.5.

    Hi Julia,

    Here’s one way to go about it:

    *set your cloner to grid mode and set up the appropriate number of clones;

    *in the cloner’s “Object” tab, set “Fix Texture” to “Straight.”

    *apply your texture to the cloner object and set up flat mapping to get the UVs in order.

    That’s it. Now you can move the clones about with effectors and the texture will stick to the clones as they move.

    Have you tried the Character>Retarget tag?

    Do you have the MoGraph module?

  • IMO the best way is to turn off illumination and turn on lens flare. You can make a light the child of an animated object so it will move along with it. You can also clone lights for use with Tracer.

    I may be able to do it for you. I’ve done a heart model before, but no internals: https://www.3danvil.com/Heart.jpg

    It’s not possible AFAIK. If you have Mograph you could do it by using two cloners: one with a sphere for the verts and another with a cylinder for the edges.

    The only thing that really matters is the pixel dimensions. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. 🙂

    No, Cinema can only do whole frames. Best bet would be to retime the footage in a compositor or editing program.

    I think what they probably did was use two cloners: one for the wall of clones and another one for the word animation. I think they must have used a shader effector with the visibility parameter checked to create the word effect, along with another effector for the movement/scale.

    The problem with object falloff is that it only works with the falloff object’s vertices, so as soon as it passes through, you lose the falloff.
