Heh, I haven’t even installed Leopard on any of our studio computers. But I suppose it’s probably stable enough that we should start taking the plunge

We had the same problem with DV50 media. Drove us insane.

try this: take one of the ‘bad’ clips, make a duplicate:

Use Cinema Tools to reconform the frame rate (so 29.97 in your case). There seems to be some secondary QT rate flag that sometimes doesn’t get dealt with properly in FCP, and so when you render it picks the wrong rate flag hence the shift.

Then relink in FCP to this new duplicate media file and see if it works. Chances are it will relink to the 2 frames off rather than what RT was doing.

We just had the same thing happen today – during mid project the drive suddenly went offline. We had to go back 2 autosaves to get to a version that knew what the file names to reconnect to were

Try using the 3 way color corrector, take the mids and push them a little towards Cyan. That might be all you need.

Can’t say for the 30″, but the 23″ looks fairly close with 2.2 gamma and D50 white point

Correct, HD is 1.78 full frame.

1.33 is with black bars on the sides

1.85 is letterboxed (barely. just a handful of pixels off the top and bottom).

    Nope.

If you have the pink markers in clips, and want to see what they say, you have to 1) highlight the clip, 2) be on the marker, 3) press “m” to get the marker dialog box open.

Putting green markers on your timeline is the only way to see them overlaid on the video. But then, of course, those don’t travel with your clips when you edit.

It’s the little things AVID got right…. many years ago 🙂

    Here’s one for you…

Was overseas, 220/60Hz (tahiti). Had a travel converter. Plugged my iPhone charger into converter. You could feel that tingly sensation on all the metal parts of the iPhone when it was plugged in.

I’ve experienced grounded faults in the States before (as well as straight up elextrocution :), and that’s exactly what it felt like. But the iPhone charging over USB? That was odd. It charged, however, and everything works fine.

Thanks Jeremy, that was exactly it. Had no idea that drop menu existed!

Question 1: Are you broadcast safe? I’ve seen a digi deck add all sorts of problems with too hot levels.
