Triple check your sequence settings. Are you mixing 24p and 2398psf?

in after effects use the layer as it’s own luma matte.

I cannot use a mouse anymore – after Wacom it’s like riding a bike with a bent wheel!
give yourself at least a week of frustration. Some people take better to Wacom than others. It does require some getting accustomed to.

Ok, you have 3 layers. Do this to them:
3) Graphic render -> Set Composite Mode: Travel Matte Luma
2) Alpha Channel
1) backplatethat should do you

So what about the apple script “FCP dupe”. Which lets you open multiple copies of FCP on a single machine?

FWIW, we just bought a used MacPro with the GeForce 8800. The second monitor lags on that one too. Been too busy to troubleshoot it.

I have the Eye One Display 2. Very happy with it. Easy to use

Actually it wasn’t the sync generator – it was the Format Converter on the deck.
The whole time I’ve had a tri-level sync generator.
There’s a sub-sub menu on the SR deck that will slave deck control to the Frame Converter if you have it set to a different frame rate.

You’re a leader in several of the forums and you certainly do know what you’re talking about. But as a “leader” you’re not terribly exemplary. I know this is not the first time you’ve laid into someone who didn’t have your engineering experience. Thank you for lambasting a fellow member of the Cow when he was in a jam. Having been a member for several years I would have hoped for a better reception or more constructive feedback.
