    Hi, first again sorry for my english

    Im trying to do something looks easy but i dont know how can i do it.
    A have a sequence with animated text in final cut and i want to import in after effects. The FCP Seq, only have the text layer, but when import in after effects have a black background.
    I try exporting as a tga sequence, in animation color +…. but the problem its the same.

    Someone could help me?

    Just plain white text on black?

    in after effects use the layer as it’s own luma matte.

    Make sure it is NOT RENDERED before you export. If you render it makes a composite with the empty background.

    Hmm…check to be sure that you have nothing (like a black layer, for instance) filling the background (use View>Background>Checkerboard to check this).

    I would suggest exporting the sequence as an Animation codec Quicktime and be sure to include an Alpha (millions of colors +). Should work fine.

    One way is to add an empty text generator which covers the complete timeline, then export.

    Hi again,
    Thanks for ur interest, the text layer its created with the effect: CGM DVE TEXT “Karaoke”, its works like a normal layer, and when change the background in checkboard its transparent. I tried Animation Codec with “millions colors+” too, and the problem against…
