Strange lines on preview and canvas
Dear colleagues
Final cut pro 6 is displaying strange lines in the middle of the picture during playback both on the canvas and on the preview full screen of the other monitor.
When you go back and stop on that frame the line stays there freezed, if you export the video the line is gone.
If you go back and forward on the timeline after a while the line will not show again on that same frame but on others.Is my video card going bananas?
I am working on Mac Pro with ATY, RadeonX1900 512mbAny idea?
I searched the post but did not find anything
I am working with mixed DV files and Apple pro res exported from compressor and other similar software.
Any help is appreciated
By the way in my home today is 33 Celsius could it be the heat? I also installed diskinsominia a couple of weeks ago.

It’s too hot! Get an air conditioner in that room or stop working! I’ve seen people completely fry a 30″ monitor running it in 95 degree heat all day

Unfortunately it could be your Video Card. My X1900 did something very similar a year or two ago. I ended up downloading a utility called SMCFanControl to manually boost the internal fans and cool the card down. This worked for a little while, but eventually I just had to replace the card.
Ended up replacing it with a 3870.
If you do a search for MacPro/Warcraft you will see this card has a known overheating issue with some games, so it only stands to reason that it could also overheat when being taxed in some Video environs.
