yes, but make sure it’s an internal raid FW800. Like the medea G-Raid or a Lacie (I don’t recommend Lacie. They get really hot, and I’ve had 2 of their drives bust on me)

not clear – do you have your system software living on this internal raid setup as well? If you do, that would be the 1st culprit I’d look into.

29.97 edl out of FCP. cinema tools: convert 30->24fps edl

Check your Render Quality and Field Dominance for the DV timeline. It’d look better, end of day, to do it in After Effects or Shake etc…. Final Cut doesn’t always get things looking their best.

It seems to be a problem with the Xsan file system and non-Unix friendly filenames. For instance, a file named “a03/b03” is showing up in Search as “a03:b03” Even though if you open a Finder window it shows up with the ‘/’
Funny enough, though, if we shoot XML’s across stations on the XSan, they have no problem with wacky filenames.

I’d put Kona in slot 2 or 3. The top slot which is 166mhz caused my Kona SD to output an unstable and noise ridden picture. I currently keep it in slot 3.
