I would down convert the HD & HDV to DV. As a general rule of thumb I always go with the lowest resolution source, as down converting wokes better then up ressing.

It can take a long time to export h264 becaouse it has to compress the video. Export goes much quicker if you use the current settings.

What are you going to do with the video is it hoing to DVD the web? if it is going to DVD I would export it using current settings

Did you create a new sequence after the easy set up because doing a easy set up douse not effect sequences that have already been made. Check the settings for the sequence you are trying to put the video on.

Final Cut Pro douse not author DVD or VCD’s for that matter. DVD Studeo Pro douse not Do VCD’s ether.

Some mpegs have this problem (I believe it hase to do with the tpe of mpg and how they compressed it), if you try to export it from Quicktime Pro you will probably have the same problem. I would try and use MPEG Streamclip.
