Awesome link earlier I myself and looking into trying some of this myself after seeing local photographer do this. The photographer told me the best way to do a photo montage like this is to shoot with it in mind. He did wedding montages and would shoot the couple in front of the background and then have the couple move and shoot the background empty. That way you have a full clean background giving you a little more flexibility.

Once finished editing, create a DV sequence and then nest your other one in it. Render then lay to tape.

You cant use FCP FF in it, but you can use quicktime pro to export a picture file and then use that.

If that is your timeline settings then most likely, DV is a killer on graphics.

Look into a photoshop plugin called IconBuilder Pro for making any icon you want, I have made icons of my business logo, another useful icon app is Can Combine Icons this app makes it easy to combine 2 icons together like combining my business logo icon with a folder icon and hard drive icon.

You can try a program called data rescue. No promises, but it’s worth a try. You will need a different drive to copy any files it finds on to though.

H264 makes fine HD files. Use compessor to make your h264 file.

It really has nothing to do with that at all. Its kinda like painting over old paint no matter how nice the new layer of paint is it is still just on top of old cracking paint, instead of stripping the old paint and painting it clean.
Its the same with ANY computer operating system.
Ifs fine just running updates to a OS, but any time you move to a new OS all together I always recommend a clean install.

It does a FULL job, but some updates cannot install with out a previous update installed first.
