Motion 3D Photo montage
Posted by Jean philippe Stuart on August 2, 2008 at 9:12 pmHi,
I want to do 3 D photo montage with FCP and Motion 3 only. No Photoshop, after effects…
I want to be able to do those 2 kinds:1. real 3D: https://www.3dpictureeffect.com
2. this kind of pre made templates from 3DTime.com and 3D-Album.com : https://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-392584684523276895&hl=en
there are 10 different templates on this piece. It works only with PC…?!The creme of the creme is the real pro: https://www.erik-lauritzen.com/lbh.mov
Any idea, tutorial, etc…? Thank YOU

August 4, 2008 at 3:50 pmThis effect is created by taking a photo and cutting out the separate images in the photo and separating their Z distance, then you move Motion’s camera to create the effect. You can cut out the parts of the photo using the Bezier tool, be sure to duplicate the image the amount of times you need to per each image. Separate the images Z distance and animate to taste. Hope this helps.

August 4, 2008 at 6:38 pmBy the way, I usually like to keep the Z distance between my images at around 300 or so.

August 9, 2008 at 9:11 pmHi Stephen,
I had my first class for the 3D pics. The problem is that every time I cut something for a layer, I need to have a pic of what’s behind or I will have a duplicate or a hole. So for example I need a pic of a woman at the beach with a ball on the sand and the beach. I can cut/mask the girl and the ball separetly but when I move the camera , I need to see what’s behind her and use a pic of the beach without her. Or use Photoshop to re-remake the missing part. Right?
Thanks

Yes, just use the Bezier or free hand mask tool.

Just increase the size of the Woman until she covers up the hole and that way you don’t need to use the clone tool in photoshop. Good Luck.Stephen Smith
