it sounds like you need to make an arrow shaped solid by what ever meas you feel best, mask photoshop, illustrator, etc, place it in a composition, add a camera, make the layer 3d, and animate as you see fit, a 3 point line shouldnt be to bad as long as it all smothed and rounded

im positive you could this is just making text fallow a path, for referance befor you try, brake up your text into a bunch of smaller chunks.
this is for 2 reasons, a.e. will work with it better this way

and secondly think of it as a train, all the cars move seperatly but are pulled by one object, if tey were all one thing the turns would force the train off the tracks, but since they all have a rnage to pivit and move, you can get them to work much better

also, as a side note, it’s more fear and loathing in lasvagas with a twist, their text fallows a road in the end, it just doesn’t turn

make your own, move the first clip above the other one (by just a little bit) and than apply a blur and opacity change, i did about a dozen of these in my last little short which my cameraman and acotr where often leaving me with no handles, it has this really nice effect. put a white slug infront of your bottum clip and do a long crossfade with that as well, gives it a nice touch (white was my choice also i used a gaussian blur, they fade together ver very well)

May 7, 2006 at 5:00 pm in reply to: Double System workflow in FCP, for an avid user?

merging clips is surprisingly easy( except for murphey’s law situations, than well, it’s murphey’s law and finalcut is notorius for, well, being screwy) any ways, it was one of the first things i ever learned in finalcut and i was surprised how simple it was, youll pick it up in a snap!

there’s no easyease function if fcp, smooth is that function, thats odd how it’s “wiggling all over” it really shouldn’t be doing that, how did you set the keyframes?
