Walter, you’re a genius. That worked.

I had already completed the work yesterday (doing a bit more manual work) but for the sake of giving closure to this post and in case it helps someone else in the future I am following up.

I’m using automation software so I would like to copy the scale values so I can use them in variables to compare to something and then based on that, the macro will proceed in one of two ways.

Thanks for your reply. I am, however, looking to see if someone else has experienced the echo “side effect” when ticking the Hum Removal box.

Uhhhh… I actually was just moving the last keyframe and it works (so long as I do this first before I extend the layer)…

But I also tried (as you suggested) creating a new keyframe on the last good picture frame of the videos and this works as well.

I’m going to stick to your most recent advice.

Hi Dan,

Your solution works! Interesting though, It’s basically the same thing I was doing. The only difference is that I have to move the keyframe [before] I extend the layer. If I extend the layer first and then I move the keyframe, the black frames will show. I don’t understand why but Oh well! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Understood but another reason why I really miss the manual save is for example if I’m testing something (an edit, an effect or transition, etc.) and FCP decides to crash midway, FCP just saved a state of my project that I wasn’t sure of keeping yet.

But in response to your suggestion: Saving projects as snapshots clutter my library. This would be ok if we had folders which we can organize but we don’t.
