  • How to maximize battery usage

I’m catching a plane tonight for a long flight and would like to wok while on the plane. Besides quitting all apps that I am not using, are there any other tips/tricks that can help prolong my battery charge?

I know that many processes run in the background so I wonder if there’s any way to limit or quit them altogether? I will also make sure my screen brightness is just bright enough so as to save battery.

    Thanks for any tips!

Check under your seat–a lot of planes have AC outlets now.

I’d be surprised if a long flight didn’t have AC outlets, so you should be okay, BUT, to answer your question regarding quitting processes:

You can use ACTIVITY MONITOR in the Utilities folder to look at what processes are running, which are using the most energy/CPU/Memory etc, and you can also force them to quit.
