yea there’s an extra bonus you’ll find out after you install this thing. Mac users are getting bent over once again by Adobe , this time not only having OpenGL crippled , this time we’re not even able to turn it on.
How about that bonus ? Gotta love how Adobe has handled this one. With such a dignity and up front disclosure you’ll only find in this industry legal.

nevermind …. yikesmikes , thanks for ‘detailed’ response. Mac OS grayed out AEP file ( dont know why ) when i clicked on FILE->IMPORT when i tried it first time. Strange, it’s still grayed out now but it’s selectable and it does work.

I didnt know it was a secret that Adobe is shooting for July 1st to release Production Suite. I mean amazon.com has had it on their site for weeks and if one looks at adobe’s site , one can find on AE’s feature list that they plan to have English and 2 other language versions released in July.
July 1st , or few days later.

So how would i go about managing my memory if i have bare minimum for my amount of cores. ( I have 8 cores but only 9GB of ram )

I dont get it why Adobe cant add extrude filter to AE. Motion has had Extrude since version 2 and it wasnt even 3D back then.
Anyway , thanks to yikesmikes for taking his time to write that great post. I saved it , this stuff will come handy , i’m sure.

Where in preferences can you choose how many instances get to run ? I ask because my Mac Pro is really having trouble with AE8 due to having inefficient amount of RAM compared to cores.
I’ve gotten Mac Pro 8 core, and soon realized that i cant afford more than extra 4 GB for time being(for total of 5GB). When i enable multiprocessor in preferences it says it’s going to use 6 instances of AE to render stuff and i get horrible performace as a result. I’d like to limit it to 4 cores.

You mean to say that AE CS3 does not work with Photoshop CS3 that is about to be released 3-4 days from now or with Beta Preview that was released on Christmas ?
