I’ve bumped this as I’m having the same problem and can’t find a solution anywhere.
I am using Resolve 9.1.0lite.071, latest Cuda drivers 5.0.37 on Mac 10.8.2
Basically I’ve moved a project to this computer. The Resolve project opens up nicely, showing the existing project with grades and timelines. The media clips are all sitting in the media pool but show as black thumbnails and no picture appears in the viewer.
Any suggestions?
thanks

workaround!!
problem happens when the clip list nears the bottom of the browser window
so
make your browser window really tall
and/or
drag the clips into a bin as you go (before they reach the bottomwhoop

That’s great T2,
I’ve seen a expensive solution but can’t believe it would be that hard!

That’s awesome to hear. My experiences with HDV have been similar – great results for the dollar investment.
Will be particularily interested to hear how the selling process goes and what return you are able to make for all your hard work.
cheers

Do tell!!!!
Would love to learn what the difference is as well. What did you learn??
I’m using Episode and not sure why I would choose one over the other.
cheers

Hi Charles,
Sorry slow response been away and busy busy.
16:9 issue all sorted just had to learn what I was doing – without reading the instructions of course.
Episode has been great. It’s very fast and I like the way you can still work in Episode whilst it’s doing compressions.
Is there an Episode forum at all???
I’d love to lern more on working out optimum settings for different desired results.cheers

Thanks guys,
I’ve ended up purchasing Episode. Looks like it does everything I need and seems really really fast.
My only problem now is trying to compress 16:9 footage and maintaining it’s apsect ratio. Trying to work it out.
Thanks for the advice – love the COW.

more info –
Main reason for compressions is to take edited HD material (HDV and XDCAM HD originated) and send clients compressed versions for them to review – save me a long drive or sending a DVD.
I’ll also be posting these compressions on various websites for clients.Batch processing and using templates is really valuable as it allows me to output a whole number of formats with little work.
Just downloading a trial of Episode to see how that works.

July 4, 2006 at 6:53 am in reply to: **** quality of still images output via compressor??? – DVPAL after deinterlacing *******HI Tim,
deadline passed thank god!!!
It’s difficult fo me to quantiify the differnec in results as many of the pics have been delivered at too low a resoultion and had to be rescanned. However there was definately a difference and the 8 bit uncompressed can a better result as DAFsr 1’s post described.
I will definately go straight to 8 bit next time for any project conatining lots of still pictures. Only dissadvantage is the greater rendering when incorporating DV footage – I’m still flogging a dual G4 and just hanging out for the new Intel Powermacs.
cheers, wes
