Thanks for response. Yeah, “Send to encoding” is how I usually send to Sorenson Squeeze. The problem with version 6 is that it would absolutely not import any type of Quicktime, regardless if you used the “send to” or “import file” option. After an exhausting troubleshoot, I had to revert to version 5, which works fine.

January 20, 2010 at 7:49 pm in reply to: Canon 5D Mark II footage Workflow?

    Hey Joe
Thanks for the quick response, but it does not address my frame rate problem. I agree the DNX_HD wrapper works wonders but this footage is 1080p 30fps. Avid doesn’t give you an option to set up a new project as 1080p/30fps, thus the Canon footage is wonky in any other 1080p project.

    Still stumped in stinky town.

I’m having the same questions regarding importing HD footage from a Canon 5d Mark II. Yes, the format is H264 Quicktime and can be imported into the Avid, but the Canon records at 1080p 30fps. Avid does not have these specs as an option in project settings. Anyone know the answer?
    Thanks

    Hey Peter
I honestly do not know if I’m Avx 1.5 or 2.0 No where can I find that info. Even on the Boris install disc, it just says AVX, not which version. Also, there is no “promote to” inside the effect either. I’m stumped.

September 29, 2006 at 7:47 pm in reply to: Dvd Write Speed Problem

Thanks Vince. I will try your suggestion. In the meantime, I did notice something strange. When I burn a dvd with 1 timeline, that is one menu chapter, Encore’s allows me to pick dvd “write speed”. When I have more than one timeline, more chapters in the menu, it resorts to “auto write speed” only. Any ideas other than your previous suggestions? Thank you

    Hey Jon
Yes, I brought the footage in via Fire wire. Thank you for the response. I feel better now about the res quality of my video, or lack there of in the system. That 1:1 question haunts me no more.
