I cannot open Final Cut Pro
I’ve been using FCP 5 for several months with no prob. Today, I hooked up a brand new external hard drive for more video capture/storage space. I changed the scratch disk setting in FCP’s capture mode to send all video to the external disk. (I set it up, but did not capture any video) Later, I changed my mind of my initial formating of the new external disk, so I reformatted it. Now, when I click FCP it acts as if it will open, the launch window shows but it suddenly dissapears. No timeline, nothing. Clicking on individual FCP project documents has the same effect. Have I screwed up royality? Is this because of my scratch disc change over? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated by this forum rookie.

Download and run FCP Rescue: https://www.pistolerapost2.com/fcprescue
It trashes your FCP prefs. Then try to launch FCP.
