Yes this has everything to do with a crop sensor lens. The Circle of Confusion is too small to project onto a full size sensor. You are seeing the cropped Circle of Confusion.

If you are shooting clean out over HDMI, chances are you are also shooting double system. Have you tried the audio line out to the Ninja while shooting video out the HDMI.

Isn’t 29.97 fps by definition interlaced? 30p is progressive.

Stem are the raw surround tracks. There are 6 stems to a 5.1 mix– L, C, R, Lc, Rc, LFE.

Try 5DtoRGB free from the App Store or the paid batch version which allows you to set up a render queue so you don’t have to sit and do one at a time. Much better results and multi-processor aware so it is much faster.

Also away to just put SND FX on “track” 4 and they stay there.
Be able to checkerboard dialogue on “track” 1 & 2. Room tone on “Track” 3, etc.
This way when you want to send and OMF or AAF to Protools everything is where is should be.
The reason I haven’t made that big jump to FCPX for everything is stated above. Have things changed?

Of course I’d like the option for tracks. Sort of a preference turn on/off magnetic timeline if I am editing a feature film. Not sure I’d attempt a feature yet in FCPX as it is now 🙁

Try swapping HDMI cables. I had the same issue, but not with a Ninja. I replaced the HDMI cable with a much shorter 18″ cable with no mini adapter and all troubles went away.
Make sure there is no stress on the cable side attached to the camera. Do you have a strain relief?

Try 5DtoRGB free on the App store. There is a Paid Batch version as well. The free version only allows one clip at a time. I use it with a 5D Mark iii. I’ve never had good results with FCP7 L&T and Canon footage. Too many glitches.
