Ok, question about the 5D Mark II footage I got back. It was shot 1080, 29.97. However, if I drag the raw H.264 files into Final Cut, it is telling me the footage is Field Dominance Upper (Odd). If I drag it into compressor, it says it is “Native Field Dominance” Bottom First.

Shouldn’t it be progressive? Can the 5D even shoot interlaced?

Also what I’ve always found weird about trying to figure out the Filed Dominance, is that you can always change the drop down menu to read something else, but it never seems to change anything about the footage. (That might be a question for compression techniques…)

    Anyone know what’s up? Thnaks!
