Could you upload a screenshot of what problem you are suffering from? may be there is an alternative.

I’m sure I learned about keyframing mask layers in the tutorial series I took, but clearly I forgot all about it haha.
It is not possible to remember everything all the time. Just brush up the basics on regular interval. It would help a lot.
Glad I could help. If you stuck somewhere else, Come back here and post the query 🙂

Hello Todd
Is there a way to upgrade from AE 6.0 version to CS3 Version? I searched everywhre including Adobe’s website but didn’t get any information. Or there is no way to migrate from such an old version to a new one?

Here is an example that I have created:
5483_2danimationabsorbinganimatingmaskpath.zip
I was using my laptop so its a CS3 version file and there is no feather around the mask when the absorption takes place. But you can use that feature in CS6.
Hope this may help.

Try using Remove Color Matting Effect.
Though it helps when we use effects that creates transparency but you can give it a try as Alpha Track Matte also creates the transparency.

Yes! You are right the problem is with Spatial Interpolation of keyframes.

Does anyone know why a camera defaults to a certain position in (Z)space when creating?
From Adobe :
In After Effects, the position of the camera represents the center of the lens. When you modify Focal Length, the Zoom value changes to match the perspective of a real camera. In addition, the Preset, Angle Of View, and Aperture values change accordingly. If you double click on the camera to open Camera Settings, you will notice that the z-Position is equal to( negative of )Focus Distance.
