You can create a Garbage Matte by using a Solid or a Shape Layer with Alpha Track Matte.

Is it possible that the smoother do not work with puppet tool’s key frames?
I tried to use smoother for Puppet Tool Keyframes and it worked for me.
If you are looking for overall smooth animation, Select all the Keyframes, Right Click> Rove Across Time.
after tracking a shoot using the 3d camera tracker the option of- “create shadow catcher and light” was not available to me.
Can’t say much without knowing the procedure that you followed. I am assuming that you have missed some steps.

I did the same thing and got the same problem.
Alternative:
Use Fractal Noise in conjunction with Displacement Map to Wiggle Graphics.

Set Velocity from Motion to Zero(if it is not already). It may solve the issue.
Go for 10X linear or higher into “Position Subframes”.

The footage should have good parallax to make Camera Tracker work properly.
Darby has explained this here.

You can Create the 3D models in any 3D software package and the Render them as Sketch and Toon Effect.
You can do so in Cinema 4D. You can also get the Cartoon look in Ae using plugins like Cartoon(comes with AE) and using a Third Party Plugin from Red Giant Toon IT.
