I tried everything and discovered it by accident. But it worked and I’m still setup that way. My video is coming in component and i believe that the green channel has sync?

somehow it works great. i thought my problem was using a digi002r but it was out of sync either way.

I had the exact same problem with a m15u. I finally switched to capture audio over f/w instead of analog into the LHe and now it’s fine – perfect sync. I spoke to AJA several times but we never figured it out.

The SDI output on the XL H1 does not output 24p(f). It’s got pull down added. The only way to get the 24f out is via F/W. You can control the camera via firewire and capture video over SDI.

It’s not the OMF export that’s problematic, Pro Tols won’t open it without Digitranslator. I was just looking for an alternative approach. Thanks

I don’t have digitranslator and was hoping there was a way around it aside from making duplicate timelines and exporting the tracks individually. Is there a way in STP? I have that. I also have 21 versions of these commercials. Thanks.

I love mine. i teetered between the two cameras and went with the canon for the HD SDI port and interchangeable lenses. I had it on a production last week and we had every output running except composite – to client monitors, to video assit for the operator,to video playback, to audio with TC and the F/W to a little HV10 velcroed to the battery mount for back up. that H1 took a four day beating and never flinched.

i captured all the HDV stuff into FC via Kona LHe as 10bit uncompressed SD. I’m cutting it against d-beta color corrected 16mm layoffs and dv50 existing footage and it looks beautiful. It held up flawlessly.

what shutter speed was it shot with? And how was it captured? I’ve seen some really beautiful and fluid 24f footage.

and for what it’s worth, i was told by a canon tech rep that 24f also provides 20% more information per second. same bit rate distributed over fewer GOPs. I don’t really get it, but I’ll buy it becasue it makes sense.
