I assume you are in VCR mode. The little mode select button on the handle needs to be set to tape not card. i just checked mine and it seems fine.

I just finished setting up a 32″ sony bravia lcd for a client screening tomorrow. I’m outputting video from the Kona breakout box and the audio is from my digirack. The project is SD. 720×486 10bit. it’s fine. it looks better on my 23″ luma, but it’s fine. pillar box and all. It’s a little red and a touch contrasty but i didn’t spend much time setting it up.

The problem with consumer LCD’s is their limited handles for tweaking color. I suggest going to a decent electronics shop and getting into the settings on a few. you’ll be able to see just how much flexibility is in each set.

It appears that the Kona card has a hard time with downconverting HDV audio. I switched the audio input to capture the DV audio coming form the deck and switched the output to the digi 002r and it’s perfect – quality and sync.

i have a different monitor for clients. the luma is for me and is directly above my 23 computer monitor dead nuts centered to me. it looks like it would be ok for two people sitting rather close. the question is, how much do you like your clients?

i’m off to a production but could probably do an unscientific test later in the week.

I had a facility engineer form one of the bigger post houses here come in with his new LCD probe. He was able to get my 23 Luma LCD set up in his words “right on.” We were both pleasantly surprised at what Sony is able to offer with these panels.

it eorks perfectly with the LHe under Rosetta. There was a post on the C4 website that indicated a code problem in the intel part of the the program. there is a fix, but it is not posted at autodesk as of yet.

so, i just found a topic at autodesk, it’s C4 not sending blue to the frame buffer. there was a fix provided to a guy in early december which has not been posted yet. you’d think they might post that sooner than later.
