  • Export each audio track as mono?

Posted by Vince Gaffney on February 25, 2007 at 3:30 am

I need to export my audio tracks as individual mono tracks for work in Pro Tools. Is it possible? I have channel 1 and 2 checkerboarded to clean up the transitions at the cuts. Every export method I’ve tried gives me a pair of mixed tracks. Seperate AIF’s of each track would be ideal. Any ideas?

Look up OMF exports in your FCP manual. ProTools wants an OMF file from you.

I don’t have digitranslator and was hoping there was a way around it aside from making duplicate timelines and exporting the tracks individually. Is there a way in STP? I have that. I also have 21 versions of these commercials. Thanks.

You do not need the digitranslator. You export directly from your FCP timeline. It’s in your FCP manual.

It’s not the OMF export that’s problematic, Pro Tols won’t open it without Digitranslator. I was just looking for an alternative approach. Thanks

Sorry, I didn’t understand you. Without the digiTranslator, I think the only other option to get discrete audio files into the ProTools timeline is to give your mixer an audio EDL & the tapes with original audio on them so the mixer can digitise the audio himself.

    Hi,
Could you please tell me how you can export AIF mono files? I have tried and they’re still 2 tracks and I have a timeline with 6 audio tracks, 2 stereo but the rest mono. What am I doing wrong?
    thanks
    Paolo
