One way I make sure there are handles on the clips I intend on placing a transition in-between is by using the slip tool.
Zoom in a bit on your sequence to the edit point you wish to place a transition
Make sure they are butted against each other
Select S (slip tool) on the keyboard
Move the mouse over the clip to the left of the edit point and click on it. You should see a box outline surrounding the clip that shows you the original length of your shot. There should be an overlay of this box seen over the next clip. That overlay is your video handle.
Do the same to the clip on the right of the edit point. There should be a box outline over the clip to the left of it. Adjust as needed if there is no overlay (handles). Add your transition.hope that helps.

Sequence settings must be set to 4 channel Mono
Each audio track must be routed for the XD Cam Disc Tracks 1 thru 4. Default is odd tracks to Audio 1 and Even tracks to Audio 2. If you want individual tracks to route to the Discs tracks 3 & 4 you need to do it manually on your Timeline.

You should be able to batch capture if you have an XDCam deck with SDI out & 422 machine control (PVW-F70 or above) and a capture card with SDI in and 422 machine control.
If so you can take the deck out of PC remote and run a SDI cable and RS 422 to your capture card. This will turn your XDCam import deck into a player allowing you to capture / batch capture your material. We have done this in SD mode for an older 4×3 project, but have not tried in HD mode.hope that helps

A few frames in either direction. Rarely have I had our deck (Digibeta) not catch on a frame, but if I adjust my Mark In a few frames it has helped. This has happened twice in as many years, and on each occasion only one of the batch capture clips out of a list of over 20 + clips was the problem. Wondering if the same would apply to your capture deck/camera.

A few ideas…
Can you capture the clips needed using only CAPTURE NOW instead of Batch Capture?
Was the Timecode marked by typing the numbers into the Mark In and Mark Out fields or by clicking on the Mark In button or Mark Out button?
If you adjust your In Point by a few frames will that help FCP locate the timecode better.hope some of that helps,

And remember to reset the sequence settings back to how they were after your export, when you need to output your final program.

Have you tried changing your Audio output from Stereo to Dual Mono?
In the Browser, right click on the Sequence you want to export and select Settings.
In the Sequence Settings window click on the Audio Outputs Tab and change the output to however many audio channels you need. Select Dual Mono for each.
Back in your sequence you need to re-assign your audio tracks to the new outputs you desire.
Export.
now when you import back to FCP you will have multiple audio tracks instead of a single Mono track or Stereo track.

Also use the Mask Feather Filter and place underneath the Matte, Don’t use the Feather control in the garbage matte.
I always add the Mask Feather when I want crisp edges on the screen.

This is what I got with Smoothing off using the 8 point Garbage Matte and Mask Feather
with Smoothing on at 10 you can see rounded edges and slight blue on bottom of screen.
Good luck with the shot.
