It’s a bit confusing- you say you want to make the moves “heavy” but your example shows pretty basic camera moves that loop. there are quite a few tutorials out here on the COW that can help you. I have one that uses 3d displacement to enable more complex 3d paths for the camera moves. Check the tutorials and then if you have more questions be specific.

If you have a depth map you can use it to displace in 3d a gray layer using FreeForm Pro (or Free Form V2) and then use AE lights to create and animate the shadow. After this is just a matter of finding the right transfer mode to comp it on top.

Are you importing the png from a folder that has more png images? If so, it may be that AE sees that as a sequence and imports all images as a clip. That would explain why you can not extend the layer, other than that there should be no limit.

It’s not just one thing- there’s a combination of highly orchestrated camera moves on steadycam, dolly shots and crane shots (maybe drone), combined with clever transitions between shots helped by elements added in post and some computer generated elements. Lots of pre-production work with heavy storyboarding helps in situations like this. Of course a high budget does help as well.

April 7, 2016 at 9:27 am in reply to: Changing the body movement/shape of an actor in After EffectsRe-shoot is always the best option, especially when it comes to exercise videos where the shot is long and the actor’s position and movement is what sells the idea. Changing something in a way that tricks the viewer will be most difficult.
You can try using some distortion tools – Mesh Warp or Bezier Warp, but I doubt that will work on longer shots.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

You find the stroke properties right under path, under “Stroke”…

It’s a issue mostly encountered in time lapse sequences but it can occur in a regular shot as well. Running the footage through something like GBDeflicker (https://www.granitebaysoftware.com/products/productgbd.aspx) may help.

A easy and fast way of creating the effect you’re after is if you use CC Light Sweep on a graphic element. So if you design the tabs either separate in AI or using masks on a solid in AE, you can apply Generate/CC Light Sweep and then play with the Width of the sweep, the Edge Thickness and Intensity and you can animate the highlight by animating the center position. You can have the actual sweep be visible or you can turn the Sweep Intensity down to have just the edge appear.
