  • At this point AE does not support import of 3d objects.
Zaxwerks Invigorator Pro can import 3d files though.

The lines and dots that you are referring to however can be done in AE using another plugin: Plexus.

To change the size of your composition, including the elements in it, use a Script that comes with AE.
Choose “File > Scripts > Scale Composition” and then enter the desired width or height of the new size.

Not knowing if there is a camera move or not, here’s what I suggest:
Roto the part that is in front.
Create a Camera Projection (if not familiar do a google search on the subject- you’ll get plenty of good tutorials) for the background ( water, sky and buildings). This will give you a nice 3d space to put some 3d particles simulating fog (Particular should do the job) or several 2d layers of fog for a more realistic look.
If you just drop in a single fog layer you will not get the look of things disappearing in the fog as they are farther from the camera. Even if you are going for a heavy thick fog, it would still be nice to see the outline of the buildings that are closer fading in.

I think the Jobs section on the Cow is a better place for this post.

For a quick fix you can find some preset projects- do a google search and you’ll get a few sources.
    Here’s a good one:

  • Duplicate layer, cut mask to match the shape you want to affect, apply color correction (Hue/Saturation and Levels) to get the golden yellow color, apply Glow. Work @ 32bit for best results.

Separate the areas- a different key for the hair, body and hands.
For hair and hands, you may want to use 2 layers- one with a tight key using a Matte Choker, the second with a slightly feathered edge ( more feathered for moving hands) that has a correction for the green spill to match the background color and transparency.
