Check your Menu setting and in the format section switch it from auto to HDV. If you have Played a DVcam tape in the deck then the auto format selection doesn’t work. Also make sure you if you have a decklink or AJA card turn off the desktop extension. hope that helps.

Were they rendered or just realtime playback the difference is a faint light green bar (above the time line,in a sequence) if it is realtime and a blue bar if it is rendered. I am not refering to the thick green bar indicating preview render this is fainter than that. And unless all the options under sequence/render all (proxy/needs render/dynamic/etc.) are set it will not render until an edit to tape. Also edit tape has to render Bars and tone, countdowns, and black if those options are selected in the mastering settings menu. hope this helps

I had your particular issue. It turned out I had corrupt preferences files. FCP 5 rescure cleaned it up.

Does that mean that any footage digitized through the analog card will become interlaced? or is it the easy set-up in FCP 5 that changed the footage into interlaced. Do your SDI based card support progressing or just your HD cards?

I was aware of that funtion in FCP. I found a more techinal way of figuring it out the the Pani forum. Thank you.

Thank for the feed back. I assume you mean leave the lo-res files on the system while using the media manger?

Degrade has to do with a need to render the footage. it is show a realtime proxie. Render it first and then look at on a external monitor.

Check to see if your distortion aspect ratio is set to 0 or another number. 0 is what it should be.
