I haven’t seen an FCP problem, but I have a significant printer problem with 10.4.3, like I can’t.

If you’re applying the widescreen filter, in the filter controls is an offset slider which will let you move the image up or down.

There is an Academy leader in the Extras folder (In think or somewhere) on the FCP install DVD. This is not the FCP countdown.

As far as the DVD is concerned you need something like DVDxDV for convert the material into a format that Final Cut can edit.

Actually Boris does not default to pure white but to 235s. You might want to check what sequence settings you have for video processing. It sounds like yours are set to super-white instead of white. Set to white Boris default titles using range check show luma values between 90 and 100. Only when processing is set to super-white do they exceed 100 units.

Shift-F will show in browser, otherwise it depends on where the clip has come from. If the viewer is active matchback (F) with a browser clip loaded won’t do anything; when a sequence clip is loaded matchback will match to the corresponding frame in the sequence.

How exactly are you capturing? In what application? What settings are on the tape? What settings are you using in the application? What computer are you using and what devices are connected to it?

You need to use Flash to output a QuickTime movie in the correct format that can be imported into FCP.

You can bring the still image into FCP. Put the kissing shot on the layer on top and apply the Mask Shape filter to it. Animate the mask shape from zero up to whatever size, hold it and then continue the animation to full size. Add a mask feather filter to soften the edges.
