What computer are you using? Make sure the monitor resolution is at least 1280xsomething (can’t remember the number). Make sure the dock isn’t cutting into that. If there isn’t enough screen space on your monitor multiple edits won’t be available in the Window menu.

That’s what I’m really looking for, direct capture of DVCPRO HD, or even HDV. But I don’t think it works with anything anymore.

Thank you for confirming that it DID once work. I wasn’t sure if it was in v4 or v4.5 and that I’m not crazy. My recollection was that it worked in earlier versions going back to at least v2.

Can you do the same thing in FCP 5.0, or 5.1, or even 5.1.2?

Negative that. Non-controllable device assumes there is no TC coming from the device so it generates its own. Every clip starts are zero. Unless the problem has been fixed with capture now, the capture to computer workflow is still hosed.

Hi Chawla,

Does this only happen with batch lists? Does it also happen when batch capturing items from the browser? That would be bad. What about XML export of a batch list, will that capture correctly?

It’s not in the update news.

The simplest way to do what you want I think would be with I/O points in the timeline. One at the playhead and the other at the beginning or end of the clip and then ripple delete. Or you could Control-V at the playhead, select the piece to dump and ripple delete it.
