Would someone please write a plugin like Animatte for AVID.
You can take the pen tool and draw your keyframes around the image.

The Garbage matte in FCP is minor league.
CHV is better but still not like Animatte.

I know many of us in the promo world rely on rotoscoping a huge
    amount of the time.
So many of the movies are not as good as the trailers we make of them.

Okay I’m done venting about that.

I have not worked with it (keep meaning to test it), but I understand Silhouette Roto is highly regarded https://www.silhouettefx.com/roto/

    All the best,

Silhouette Roto is the best out there but it’s no Animatte. I used to use Animatte for transitions, removing, fixing, creating things. Now that I have FCP I use Silhouette only when I have to. I highly recommend, but don’t get your hopes too high. Animatte and a better color corrector are the only things that Avid has over FCP.

AFter the nightmares i’ve been going through on this exhaustive feature
documentary, I disagree. FCP needs an optional hardware based version.
Working endless hours with so much attention to detail and then
have the project open up with a ton of anamolies is maddening.
Clips in the timeline with opacity keyframes shifted beyond
the time of the clip, dialog tightly edited comes up with completely
    different source media.

I’ve worked so hard to try and keep my work and still it looks
like it was edited by a freakin’ monkey.
We lose clients because of this randomity.
    NOT WORTH IT!

Agree. Hardware for some applications is still needed. My Symphony was rock solid. It could take on anything, but it had no future. So what’s the solution… Adrenaline? Have you ever used one? You want to buy mine? To attach Media Composer to the front of its name is an insult. Avid is having similar issues on non-hardware systems. BTW, back to the Roto issue…I prefer to use Silhouette in AE & render it to FCP. One license will plug into both apps.
