That’s all you’ve got. You’ve done what you can in FCP. You’re exporting an interlaced frame of video. You could remove the interlacing in Photoshop. TIFF, PNG, PSD at best quality, color at millions will all look pretty much alike.

You can only export what it is. 1920×1080 at 72dpi.

No. The other way around. Camera first plugged in and correct. Trash your preferences. Start FCP set DV NTSC Anamorphic.

Don’t plug in the camera while the application is running. Quit the app, start the camera, launch the app. Doesn’t the camera need to be in DV mode if you’re downconverting? Try daisychaining through the drive or removing the drive. I’m assuming it not on a separate card.

Full specs on your system, deck, drives, how everything’s connected, settings on deck and settings in FCP would be helpful.

You need a third party board or box like Black Magic or AJA.

You can name the clip afterwards, but the media file is unchanged, still untitled. Name it before you capture it.
