I belive legally if it is your camera, your tape ,its your footage. Better check with a real laywer. Don’t expect to get a lot from a network. You might get $50. Unlesss you shoot something major like a plane crash or something they don’t pay a lot

    good luck

I had some of the same years ago. i should say I live about 12 miles from their facility here in Illinois. anyway I had an old X2 acting up took it in. Upon getting the camera back I notice some black tape holding the back focus on the lens. ” Oh it was broken when we got it ” Not ! argue and argue, they could care less. My question to the liars was why didn’t you tell me it was broken when you put the tape on it ? I too never again would do busines with them. i have one of their mini dv decks that needs service and I can just imagine the story they are going to tell me about it.

    Good luck

Glad to see this post! I thought it was only happening with video crews. I have been saying this for years after doing a pageant or church function or dance recital it was happening to me. The camera tripod seems to become a beacon for a meeting. Like you say the room or hall can be empty and people congregate at my tripod! Especially love it when they start putting the kids coats on and flailing there arms around. Then you say excuse me and the look at you like you are in the way or disrupting their conversation. Going to try Ty’s idea, he has been right on with everything else he has taught me about audio.

Think you answered your own question. they are windows based using avi files. Don’t think a Mac and quickime files would do anything but fustrate you trying to work from two different platforms. Don’t buy a system just because you like the look of it

Also to add to Todd’s great reply, if you use an image with the trademark name visible ( Coke, Nike, Starbucks ) be sure to get written permission. Even hollywood has to do this.

Mis givings people have about a shotgun, what did you shoot around the house ? people talking ? the closeer the mic to the audio source the better the sound. Shotguns do really not work good around solid walls floors, too much refelctions. Tell us what you are trying to record. Also get the mic off the camera Always try and get the ic closer to the audio source

    good luck

June 1, 2007 at 11:26 am in reply to: installing FCS2 – space issue with Macbook Pro 2

I have a MBP with Studio 1 on it and installed the entire Studio 2 on it with no problem. I think it throws out a lot of the old files from 1 when it installs 2. I also have Aperture on the machine , not too much hd space left now !

Thank you Steve for the info, any other files I could put there to free up space ? also there are quite a few programs I never use on my MBP. being an old windows user I do not see any unstall programs on the Mac to remove programs
