Tips on buying a MacBook Pro
Here are a few useful tips offered on the Promax.com website on configuring your new MacBook Pro.
Try to avoid 3GB configurations. Having two matching 2GB memory modules actually yields better performance than mixing 1GB and 2GB modules.
The MacBook Pro with the higher resolution display has a longer lead time to build than the standard models, so plan accordingly.
You may be tempted to get the big 250GB drive option, but be careful. With the larger capacity comes less speed than the 160GB drive. Since you only get one hard drive, the slower drives affect overall system speed.
Remember you only have one FW800 port, so if buying an AJA IoHD, you need another way to hook up your FW800 drives. Daisy chaining won’t work. What does work? That’s in the next tip.
