To answer both questions , my previous version was Studio 1, and no I dId not trash any contet from SoundTrack or DVD studio. Not too much room left on my MBP HD !

Well you almost have to use wireless on the groom or pastor, think about how you would run cable back to your camera ?

Also you get what you pay for, garbage in = gabage out , save your money and get the best you can.

I use a mixer also, if you don’t every time you adjust levels on the camera you take the chance of bumping the camera and ruining the shot

just to add to the very good previous reply. I did some of these a few years back. First contact you local cable station who will be putting these on the air. They will gladly tell you format requirements, should also tell you what they want as far as, slate, bars and tone ,countdown and so on. Also make sure of their actual time for a 30 second spot. It took a little legwork on my part to contact the right person at the cable tv company. A good learning experience.

I know I won’t be first but I will be asking all of you seasoned FCP and Mac users to walk me thru how to install the upgrade from the studio I have running on a MBP. I hear so many horror stories I am sure I will be a bit leary. The one thing I cannot figure out after moving to a Mac is how to remove programs ? So be ready you gurus when I get my upgrade I am sure to have a ton of questions. I know you will be helpfull as you always are. maybe a good Walter of shane couls post step bt step instructions fo us novice Mac users !!!

Shane , in reading ths post here you have lost me. Looking ata HDV camera. Do I understand correctly you need a card to input this format into your Mac ? so that kills the Mac Book Pro for editing hdv ? Really lost here,I am a simple sd useer now and considering looking at Sonys new camera ( can’t remember name ) one with the small hd

Have used it sucessfully with a small Panasonic DVC 30. May I state that in the instructions it is stated, practice and more practice. Remember the first time you handheld a full size ENG camera ?

I met these people last year at NAB. They make it look easy. Used a Panasonic 100 no sweat. Its like anything else, the more you do something ( anything ) you will get better at it. Do not expect to take it out of the box set it up and be proficent in an hour, You WIll NOT.
