Dan, Please don’t take my reply the wrong way, but YOU need to go test these cameras yourself and don’t depend on everyone elses opinion here. We all have different likes , dislikes and shooting styles. Go to a good dealer and test drive the cameras. peopel will argue all day and tell you why you must get this or that , almost sometimes like it is a cult or something. You must remember one thing, there is never the best of anything, cameras, lights , editing systems. They all will get the job done. YOU must find what works for you.
Wish you the best in your quest
Best regards

Have you asked yourself how long is it going to take you to recover the cost of ths equiptment ? That should be the answer to what to buy. and all the ne gear is not going to make you a professional
Good luck

If you return to the forum page and drop down one listing to the P2 Cameras you can research a lot more about this camera. There are great people there that will help you. No offense meant at all here but you have a lot more reading and research to do on this camera. It is a great camera but does not neet everyone’s needs

Are you going to invest in a switcher, a record deck ? and run cables from the camers to the deck, tape them and protect them so no one trips and sues you for everything you own, get good camera operators that can give you the shots and follow directions quickly, can you call the shots fast and correctly ? So you still have to run tape in camera because someone will mess up at least once. And you will need someone running sound and sound only.
Live shoots are hard work good luck

Should check thread size before you buy ? also look at the B H page, lots and lots of tripods.
My advice ….. you just spent 4 t0 5 grand on a camera. DO NOT SKIMP on your tripod.

Are you asking about monitors for the MAC ? Or NTSC monitors. Why do you say you need 2 ? Need more information to answer better

Do this, grab your local phone book with yellow pages. Sit down and open it up and turn to video – video service – video recording services. Count the number of entries. This is who you are competing against. They already have their name out there. How do you plane to compete with all of them ? How are you going to sway potental clients towards you. What I am geting at here is HAVE a plan. Wedddings ,a rough hard life, People want Hollywood for dirt prices. Good luck but honestly have a plan. Also you will find as equiptment goes you always need something else. Audio is a profession in itself. Your sound should betreated with as much respect as your picture. people starting out watch their white balance and framing and focus but seldomly check or monitor levels. Runnig your audio right to the camera with out a mixer is bad. Every time you audust sound on the camera you are touching the camera, take a chance of bumpig it and are taking your eyes off the viewfinder.
good luck

If your clients are happy with what you do and produce don’t worry about what everyone else is doing.
