I don’t know if you are correct about the new camera outputting to firewire. I think you have to record the HD to the P2 card first then dump that to the pc.

Some of AE is complicated, but the presets for titles is really easy, you just type in your text and apply the prebuilt preset. Do you have a copy of AE ?

Have you tried the Zak forum ? this has been discussed ) and solved ) numerous times

  • Just cause one program works on a computer doesn’t mean Premiere will. Right off the bat, 1 gig of ram, should have more. Do you have different hard drives for system and video files ?

The best program you ask for creating dvds ? A lot of good ones, seems logical to use encore if using Premier.

I use Premiere with Encore and build nice dvds. Are you capturing lower fields first in Premiere ?

You could always go to NAB in Las Vegas in two weeks and SEE for yourself what does what. Here everyone has their likes and dislikes. What really matters is with what your are comfortable using

The best way to get it is to have someone model for you and experiment with the lights and you will see what what each instrument does. A secret to ligthting is controling the light source. I think you wil find the tota by itself is a great worklight, but put it inside Chimera softbank and now you have something you can use for video.
