dvd quality crap how to burn correctly???????? Help i’m in premiere pro hell.
Posted by Stefan W on April 14, 2005 at 11:50 pmOk, so I rendered my project before burning to cd. Then I exported it to dvd and then burned it. I tried Twice, once at 7m crd and then at 4mb both high quality of course. However, each disc is crap with quality jerky and slow (transitions don’t work well either). I have no clue on what the problem is, nor do I wish to keep wasting dvd-r’s. My test video was only five minutes long and with the high powered computer I have there should be no problem.
How do I burn to dvd correctly??? Plus what is the best program to get for buiding intros, buttons, pictures and chapters on the Dvd when it first plays?
stefan
P.s. Thanks for the help on the last question steve!!

April 15, 2005 at 12:31 amWe can only help you, if you can provide us with a little more info.
Computer specs?
Video details?
Video duration?
Transition and/or effects used.[stefan W] “Plus what is the best program to get for buiding intros, buttons, pictures and chapters on the Dvd when it first plays?”
Encore DVD does a great job

April 15, 2005 at 2:26 amI’m not sure on the computer specs…something like 1gig ram, big harddrive. Anyways, it’s not the computer because quality is fine with video studio.
The video i made was vary basic just testing features in premiere, fiv min or so. I used some transition effect, text effecs and picture in picture. I tried burning the dvd just as it says in help. However, you see distortion and lines after completing the burn and playing it on the tv.

April 15, 2005 at 11:10 amJust cause one program works on a computer doesn’t mean Premiere will. Right off the bat, 1 gig of ram, should have more. Do you have different hard drives for system and video files ?
The best program you ask for creating dvds ? A lot of good ones, seems logical to use encore if using Premier.
I use Premiere with Encore and build nice dvds. Are you capturing lower fields first in Premiere ?

April 15, 2005 at 11:49 amWhat are the properties of your source video? What are your Project settings? I suspect they dont match.

April 15, 2005 at 11:55 amSo you think my system is not powerful enough? I have to admit that i’m new at this whole thing and have no idea what” capturing in lower fields means”. Does that refer to how i’m placing video into the Timeline? EX. whether I’ve placed video in video track 2 first over video track 3??
Note: I’ve watched the video again and the only areas where distoration and lines appear is during transitions or video effects. For example, fast foward, reverse mode,”twirl in”,”slide in” and “zoom” with the picture sized smaller. Again, the video quality is good in all sections with no effect alterations. However, soon as say I slow the video down by 50%, distortion and lines appear on the screen.
Please help otherwise I have to go back to videostudio, which is to basic. I have 9 tapes to edit and I really need the functions of premiere especially its “razor” tool and “picture in picture” abilities.

What codec is you source video?? 52.8 MB is about 15 seconds?? 32 bit indicates it is uncompressed, but very low quality (3.6 mbs). How was this video clip created…export settings?? -

April 16, 2005 at 1:37 amUnder the project settings/video rendering tabs, the compressor just says DV(NTSC). I cannot hit the configure button next to it to select another codec.
Premiere Pro help says:
Note: If you use a clip in your video program without applying effects or changing frame or time characteristics, Adobe Premiere Pro uses the clip’s original codec for playback. If you make changes that require recalculation of each frame, Adobe Premiere Pro applies the codec that you choose here.Preset:
