Adobe is listening and makes changes based on input . Please fill out the feature request form here…

and request the Trim Window be given the ability to scrub audio and use dynamic trimming using the J-K-L keys (like Avid and FCP). The more customers that request a feature, the better the chance for it being implemented.

As an editor who has worked on Avid MC, Avid DS and CP…I switched to Adobe CS 5.5 (Premiere Pro / After Effects). After my experience with Avid I would never go there again. My 3 weeks with PrP are like working with what FCP 8 should have been. Sure there are new ways to do things and some things I have requested to be changed, but I like its power, flexibility and support by the parent company. John – Of course the boys at Avid really came up a with a senseless kludge of an effects interface, but that’s another story.
Yeah, and their dynamic link to After Effects really sucks… 😉

I agree Shawn. And the lack of any need to transcode is cool. I was working with a FULL resolution Red file (R3D) in real time.

I agree Alex.
Please write a feature request for audio scrubbing and JKL editing in the trim window. With enough requests from folks like us Im hopeful Adobe will listen and implement.

Jumping into new software is always a mixed experience. But since I do a lot of motion graphics, the instant link into After Effects (AND not having to then render a QT movie and import back into PrP….just switch back to PrP and there is your AE clip)… was a real joy. As with any new software and hardware there is lots to figure out and adjust to. But all in all its a switch I don’t regret.

Im in Adobe CS 5.5 land myself and having a great time. Its a thrill to have Premiere Pro 5.5 dynamic link right into After Effects. And what a rush to display my CPU activity monitor and see all 8 cores light up to 1000% when rendering in either program. And I love have helpful, knowledgeable people to talk to at Adobe tech support with cutting edge tools to help me troubleshoot issues. I feel like the Cheshire Cat these day…just one big grin.
