I would suggest a professional codec like DNxHD which can be decoded and encoded on all platforms and is very resilient.
When you say a 2″ master, are you referring to Standard Definition video?
Is this going to be converted to HD? By them or you?What system and software are using to edit this?
These are more details will be helpful in avoiding issues.

Its a little ironic you are contemplating a switch to Mac. These days old FCP users are switching to PCs in droves due to a general perception that Apple has abandoned the Pro market. I am part of that group.

Is the track active? Go all the way to the left of the timeline and click on the track to activate it.

Maybe its just as well. A sloppily managed project can be a big PITA. And if this is on your time, you probably dont need the frustration. Another will come along.

But you can fix it.
1. Go to AME Export settings page.
2. In upper left select “Output”
3. Select Scale to Fill.
