Chris, I wanted to archive the 5.5GB. file I downloaded but it wouldnt fit on my data dvds which is my preferred way to archive software. How did you do it?

Your delayed audio meters and “double click video to rescale” delays sound like it graphics card related. What card are you running? Do you have the latest drivers?

Adobe statement that might relate to topic…
There’s a known bug having to do with preview files & using Save As frequently – it’ll double the number of preview file references incorrectly on each iteration. This will be fixed in the next update. Considering the amount of cuts with software effects, I’m betting that this is what you’re hitting.
Importing your project into a new one is a good suggestion, it’s likely to leave behind any preview file references.

You are match framing to the original clip in the Source window.
If you want to see the effects related to the clip on the timeline, double click the clip on the timeline and then go to the effects tab in the source window.

Only thing I can thing at this point is to try to work with the clip on my system as a point of comparison. Otherwise Im all out of ideas as well.

My experience of CS6 is that it is rock solid stable on my system. No gloves needed. 😀
