MPG Video Imported into Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is Blurrier Than Original MPG File

Are you sure that you’re viewing it at full resolution? Premiere works with the original source media, so there should be zero difference in the media look.

Right, but are you viewing at full resolution? That’s different than 100%. The 100% is on the left side of the window, but “full” or “1/2” is on the right. Make sure it’s at “Full”.

If you mean 100% for the Monitor set it to FIT.

Does the Sequence Setting match the footage? If for instance you put a 320×240 clip into a 720×480 sequence, it will be blown up and won’t look as good then

Yes, it is set to full on both the left and the right preview windows. And the sequence has the same settings as the imported .mpg clip. After I import the .mpg files into the project media list and double-click to preview them, they are far less sharp than before the import.

Yes. Still looks noticeably lower quality.
