thanks chuck. but i should have clarified that I mean more permanently evenly distribute windows. expose is cool and all but I’d like to have the windows stay like that – not just temporarily pop-up like expose.

November 3, 2009 at 4:50 am in reply to: FCP (and iMac G5) will not recognize Firewire DV Input

YES. i just ejected a lacie firewire drive (attached with 800 cable) that was not in use, fired up fcp and it works.

there appears to be a correlation with firewire (lacie only?) drives that make the capture not possible when it’s plugged in. audio feed and video video is being passed “through” but not in the capture window until i ejected and restarted fcp. works like a charm with the “unneeded” 800 firewire NOT plugged in.

sorry, but I have to disagree with A LOT of the article. I think email is MUCH more important than you give it credit for…especially, for one-man/small production houses. The terminology and refusal to accept the possible benefits make the reviewer sound slightly outdated…I’ve been built my successful business by using email to my great advantage. Just thought I’d throw in a bit of an opposing view… Cheers.

it seems like it’s an issue with the macpro or the newest version updates or something because I just upgraded to a macpro desktop and it’s been happening to me too. it rarely ever happened when I was working on my g4. annoying especially since it’s intermittent and can’t seem to find the cause.
