actually after further investigating… when import the edl: I was able to link media and the files show up properly in the clip window but things are all conjumbled when I click on the sequence. the files are not in order that they’ve been entered on the edl. I noticed that clips are actually being placed on this new timeline according to their timecode in and out points on the edl. EDL are supposed to be a bunch of clips in a new order according to their placement on the csv -> edl.
• Also no audio is being included when I look at the edl
• also the new sequence begins at 6:40 ??? This seems like a bug to me.
now I’m thoroughly perplexed … ugh, this is going to take so long to do manually…

Thanks- much appreciated. Still trying to figure how the edl works. I’ve managed to export to csv and then convert to edl. but I’m confused what happens when I import the edl … Not sure how to “assign” the clip that I want to be used. Hope that makes sense?

Here’s a good response I got:
“I would suggest that you convert the spreadsheet to edl, and then import the edl file.
Obviously your spreadsheet needs to be formatted so the converter can read it accurately.There are plenty of converters around, a quick Google search brought this one in at the top:

My new question is how do I properly format the spreadsheet so the converter can read it accurately. I only have the in and out points not the rest of the info for the headers: No,Name,Tracks,Timecode In,Timecode Out,Tape,Start,End,Channels,Loc TC,Loc Name,Loc Color.
hope that makes sense.
Do I need to fill these columns in with “0”s or ? . thanks for any help

Oh I was happy with the form factor and the general feel, so I went ahead and did the firmware update and I’m glad I did… a couple key upgrades – especially the white balance… much better …

ah yes, sorry… and I suspect that’s the main problem: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB
(btw: Until i can figure out the long term solution, I’ve started to convert my active 1920×1080 MTS project files to 1280 x720 mp4 files)
