hello, I’m trying to optimize my premiere CC setup so i can get smooth playback like I used to… not sure what changed but video is stuttering and it’s driving me crazy..

    • where’s the best place to store media cache files & media cache database? does this help with smooth plaback? arrgh…
    • I’ve dedicated 13GB Ram to premiere and it’s still all bogged down…
    • optimized rendering for performance
    • disabled mercury transmit
    • mercury playback engine software only

I’ve got a 2008 Mac pro desktop that was running very nicely up until recently when i switched from premiere pro 6 to CC…

ah yes, sorry… and I suspect that’s the main problem: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB

(btw: Until i can figure out the long term solution, I’ve started to convert my active 1920×1080 MTS project files to 1280 x720 mp4 files)
